Today telephone, Internet and fax communications are indispensable for both individuals and businesses. In this country, Turkish Telecom provides most of the communication and data transfer services. Being the largest informatics company in Turkey and ranking as the 13th largest telephone company in the world, Turkish Telecom provides all modern communication and data transfer services at high technical and service levels, and operates a customer-oriented service system.

Taking all of the technical measures needed to provide its services at a high quality level and without interruption, Turkish Telecom cooperated with Teksan Generator to reduce its service risks to minimum.

The Bosporus Passage Project

The Bosporus Passage Project was developed by Turkish Coast Guard Agency to monitor and manage the marine traffic in the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits, Sea of Marmara, and Aegean Sea. The radar stations built for said project were equipped with two synchronized generators built and installed by Teksan Generator to stand by in case of failure of the municipal power network. These generators run as a main generator and a redundant generator respectively. They were installed indoors without a cabin but with a fire sprinkler system.

Three new stations will be added to the above mentioned project: Yalova-Armutlu, Tekirdağ-Şarköy ve Çanakkale-Bozcaada stations. In order to expand their range of observation, said radar stations must be built at altitudes as high as possible. However, this necessity automatically requires them to be built far from settlements. Therefore, it is a very important need to be able to control their generators from a remote site.
